Video Teleprompter for iOS and Android
Effective Date: August 22, 2026 · Last Updated: August 22, 2026
Orate (“the App”) is a video teleprompter. This Privacy Policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information. The short version: your scripts and your recordings never leave your device. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server to upload them to. The only information that can ever leave your device is anonymous crash diagnostics, and only if you choose to turn them on.
Everything you write and everything you record stays on your device. Scripts are personal writing and video is personal work, and neither is ever transmitted, uploaded, backed up to us, analysed, or shared.
This includes:
On iOS this is stored with Apple's SwiftData; on Android it is stored in the App's own private storage. In both cases the data lives in the App's sandbox on your device. Deleting the App permanently removes all of it.
One optional thing, and nothing else.
Nothing else is collected, by us or by anyone else, at any time.
Orate has a setting called Share anonymous diagnostics. It is off until you turn it on. While it is off, nothing is collected and nothing is sent — the App disables collection in the crash reporting SDK itself rather than merely declining to call it.
If you turn it on, a report may be sent when the App crashes or hits an error. A report contains:
A report never contains your script text, your recordings, or anything you typed, and it is never tied to your identity. Orate does not set a user identifier on the crash reporter, so reports carry only a per-installation identifier generated by the SDK and nothing that identifies you as a person.
You can turn the setting off at any time in Settings. Collection stops immediately. Reports already sent expire on Firebase's retention schedule.
Orate has no sign-up, no login, and no server of its own. We do not know who you are, we cannot see what you have written, and we hold no profile about you. This is not a policy that could quietly change in a future update — there is no backend to send anything to.
Each permission is requested at the moment it is needed, and you can decline any of them.
The camera and microphone are used solely to produce the recording you are making. No preview, frame, or audio is transmitted anywhere.
Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device. Orate sends no push notifications and operates no notification server, so setting a reminder involves no network request and registers you with nothing.
Orate Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play. Your payment is processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never see or receive your payment details, and there is no receipt server — whether you have Pro is determined on your device by the store's own SDK.
None. Orate contains no advertising, no ad identifiers, no cross-app or cross-site tracking, and no tracking SDKs. Your information is never sold or shared for advertising, and nothing about you is combined with data from other apps or companies. Because the App does not track you, iOS shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Orate is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. The only data the App can transmit is anonymous crash diagnostics, which are off by default and contain nothing that identifies a person of any age.
Because Orate holds no personal data about you on any server, there is no account to close and no archive to request. In practical terms:
If you are in the EEA or UK, the lawful basis for the optional diagnostics is your consent, which you give by turning the setting on and withdraw by turning it off.
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new “Last Updated” date. If a future version of Orate ever collects something new, this policy and the App's store privacy declarations will be updated before that version ships.
