Planify

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Planify, a product of NIKS TECHNOLOGIES ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our social media scheduling platform and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Personal Information

When you register for an account, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Name and profile information
  • Password (encrypted)
  • Profile picture (if provided)

2.2 Social Media Account Information

When you connect a social media account, we collect:

  • Account usernames, display names, profile pictures, and platform account IDs
  • OAuth access and refresh tokens, stored encrypted, used only to act on your instructions
  • The scopes (permissions) you granted, so we can tell you what the connection can do
  • Posts and content you create through our platform, including uploaded media
  • Records of what we published on your behalf, and performance metrics for those posts

2.3 Meta Platform Data (Facebook, Instagram, Threads)

If you connect a Facebook Page, Instagram professional account, or Threads profile, we receive data from Meta under the permissions you approve. Specifically:

  • Facebook: your name and email, the list of Pages you administer, and for each Page you choose to connect, its Page ID, name, profile picture, and a Page access token. We also store the Facebook user ID that authorised the connection so we can honour deletion requests from Meta.
  • Instagram: your professional account ID, username, profile picture, the media you publish through us, and — if you grant it — comments on that media.
  • Threads: your Threads user ID, username, the posts you publish through us, and — if you grant it — replies to those posts.
  • Insights: aggregate performance metrics for content published through Planify, including impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares, and engagement rate.

We use Meta Platform Data only to provide the features you asked for: publishing, scheduling, and reporting on your own content. We do not sell, license, or transfer Meta Platform Data to data brokers, advertising networks, or any party that would use it for their own purposes. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not combine it with data from other users to create audience or benchmarking products.

Planify is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc.

2.4 Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you use our Service:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
  • Device information
  • Usage patterns and preferences
  • Performance and analytics data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain our Service
  • Schedule and publish posts to your connected social media accounts
  • Generate content suggestions when you use our AI features (see section 4)
  • Send you notifications and updates about your scheduled posts
  • Improve and optimize our platform
  • Provide customer support
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Prevent fraud and ensure security

We do not use your content, your connected account data, or Meta Platform Data to train our own machine learning models, and we do not permit our AI providers to train their models on it (see section 4).

4. AI Features and Automated Processing

Planify includes AI-assisted content generation. When you use these features — writing a caption, generating post ideas, or chatting with our AI assistant — the text you submit is sent to OpenAI for processing and the generated result is returned to you.

What is sent, and what is not:

  • Sent: the prompt or draft you provide, the target platform, and any tone or format preferences you configured.
  • Not sent: your OAuth tokens, your email address, your password, or your payment details.
  • If you ask the AI to take your past performance into account, aggregate metrics for your own posts may be included in the prompt. No other user's data is ever included.

We use OpenAI under an agreement that prohibits using our submissions to train their models. AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate — you remain responsible for reviewing anything before it is published. No AI feature publishes content without your explicit action.

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you, and we do not engage in profiling.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Social Media Platforms: We share content with connected social media platforms only as directed by you for posting
  • Service Providers (sub-processors): With the vendors listed below, who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety
  • Business Transfers: In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales. Any successor is bound by this Privacy Policy, and Meta Platform Data is transferred only where the recipient agrees to Meta's Platform Terms

5.1 Our Sub-processors

We use the following providers to operate Planify:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
  • Vercel — application hosting, content delivery, and infrastructure analytics
  • OpenAI — AI content generation (see section 4)
  • Resend — transactional and lifecycle email delivery
  • Dodo Payments — subscription billing and payment processing (merchant of record)
  • Amplitude — product usage analytics
  • Affonso — affiliate and referral attribution

We do not share Meta Platform Data with Amplitude, Affonso, or Dodo Payments. Our payment processor never receives your social media content or connected account data.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Secure hosting infrastructure

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. When you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

7.1 When You Disconnect a Single Account

You do not have to delete your whole Planify account to remove platform data. When you disconnect an individual social account — from Planify, or by removing Planify in that platform's own settings — we immediately delete:

  • The access and refresh tokens for that connection
  • The profile, Page, or channel details we cached for it
  • Records of what we published to it, including platform post IDs and links
  • Performance metrics and insights we retrieved for that account

Your Planify account, your drafts and authored content, and every other connected platform are unaffected. For Facebook, Instagram, and Threads this is also what happens when Meta sends us a data deletion request on your behalf — we delete the Meta Platform Data and leave the rest of your account intact.

7.2 Retention Periods

  • OAuth tokens: until you disconnect the account or delete your account
  • Platform Data and insights: retained while the connection is active; deleted on disconnection
  • Posts and media you authored: until you delete them or delete your account
  • Billing records: retained as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 7 years
  • Security and access logs: up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymized

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, update, or delete your personal information
  • Disconnect social media accounts at any time
  • Export your data
  • Opt-out of marketing communications
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Data portability

To exercise these rights, please contact us at contact@planifyapps.com

9. Data Deletion

You have the right to request complete deletion of your data at any time. We provide two methods for data deletion:

9.1 Self-Service Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly from your account settings:

  • Go to Settings → Account Management
  • Click "Delete Account"
  • Confirm deletion

9.2 Deletion via Email

If you cannot access your account, send an email to contact@planifyapps.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".

9.3 Meta Platform Users (Facebook, Instagram, Threads)

If you connected a Facebook Page, Instagram account, or Threads profile, you can remove Planify directly in that platform's app settings. Meta then notifies us automatically and we delete the Meta Platform Data described in section 2.3 — access tokens, cached profile and Page details, records of posts we published, and the insights we retrieved.

This is a targeted deletion: your Planify account, your drafts, and any other connected platforms are deliberately left intact, because a request from Meta concerns your Meta data and not the rest of your account. If you want your entire Planify account erased, use the self-service flow in section 9.1. You can also start either request from our Data Deletion page.

When Meta sends us a deletion request we issue a confirmation code and a status URL where you can verify that it was carried out.

9.4 What Gets Deleted

When you delete your whole account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account information and profile data
  • All connected social media account credentials
  • Scheduled and published posts data
  • Analytics and performance metrics
  • User preferences and settings
  • All uploaded media files

When you disconnect a single platform, or when Meta sends us a deletion request, we remove only that platform's data as described in section 7.1.

9.5 Deletion Timeline

Full account deletion follows this schedule:

  • Immediate: Your deletion request is recorded and confirmed by email
  • 7-day grace period: You can cancel the request at any point during this window by signing in again
  • After 7 days: Your account and all associated data are permanently deleted from our primary databases
  • Within 30 days: All backup copies are permanently deleted

Single-platform disconnections and Meta-initiated deletions are immediate — there is no grace period, because no account is being closed. Backups follow the same 30-day purge.

9.6 Data Retention Exceptions

We may retain certain data for legal compliance purposes, including:

  • Financial records for tax purposes (as required by law)
  • Security logs for fraud prevention (anonymized)
  • Legal dispute records (if applicable)

Important: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Posts already published to social media platforms remain on those platforms and must be deleted separately through each platform's interface.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential: authentication and session cookies that keep you signed in. These cannot be disabled without breaking the Service.
  • Analytics: Amplitude and Vercel Analytics help us understand which features are used and where people get stuck.
  • Referral attribution: if you arrive through an affiliate link, Affonso sets a cookie so the referrer can be credited for your signup.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser preferences; blocking non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to use Planify.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party social media platforms. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the Service you signed up for — publishing, scheduling, analytics, and billing.
  • Consent: for connecting social accounts (granted through each platform's OAuth screen), for marketing email, and for non-essential cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting an account or unsubscribing.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve our product.
  • Legal obligation: to keep tax and accounting records.

Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies, we process personal data on the basis of your consent or for the legitimate uses permitted by that Act.

13. International Data Transfers

We operate from India, and our sub-processors (section 5.1) host and process data in the United States, the European Union, and India. This means your information may be transferred to and stored in a country other than your own.

Where we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, together with the technical safeguards described in section 6.

14. Children's Privacy

Planify is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
